עוד לא אבדה תקוותנו - Our hope is not lost yet
Wir laden herzlich zu unserem Shabbaton zum Thema Jewish Peoplehood vom 19. bis zum 22. Juni 2025 in Leipzig ein.
Diesmal starten wir bereits am Donnerstagnachmittag, um gemeinsam am Programm der Jüdischen Woche in Leipzig teilzunehmen. Zu den Höhepunkten zählt der internationale Kabbalat Shabbat mit anschließendem israelischen Buffet, bei dem Gäste aus aller Welt zusammenkommen, die anlässlich der Jüdischen Woche nach Leipzig gereist sind, um das Andenken ihrer Vorfahren zu ehren. Der Shabbat steht ganz im Zeichen des gemeinsamen Lernens über das Jüdischsein. Was bedeutet es für uns, Teil der jüdischen Zivilisation und einer Diaspora-Gemeinschaft zu sein, die mehr ist als Religion oder Nationalität? Was für eine Bedeutung hat das israelische Rückkehrrecht für die Diaspora und warum ist die Frage nach dem jüdischen Charakter Israels so kompliziert? Dazu haben wir wieder mehrere Sessions geplant und es wird viel Raum für Austausch und Diskussion geben. Mit unserem Speaker Alex Carstiuc (Masiyot e.V.) lernen wir verschiedene zionistische Strömungen kennen und schauen, vor welchem sozioökonomischen und (geo-)politischen Hintergrund die jüdische Nationalbewegung entstand.
Die Veranstaltung ist bereits ausgebucht, aber wir führen noch eine Warteliste und informieren euch, sobald ein Platz frei wird.
Falls ihr erst ab Freitag teilnehmen könnt, sollte dies bitte in dem Formular angegeben werden und wir finden gemeinsam eine Lösung.
Die Reisekosten werden innerhalb Deutschlands für die Anreise mit Bus, Bahn und PKW zu 75% (bis 100€) erstattet. Kosten für Unterkunft und Verpflegung werden übernommen. Die Teilnahmegebühr für das gesamte Event beträgt 70€ für Studierende und 100€ für Young Professionals. Falls keine Unterkunft benötigt wird, beträgt die Teilnahmegebühr 30€.
Für die Übernahme der Kosten für Verpflegung und Unterkunft ist die Teilnahme an der gesamten Veranstaltung verpflichtend. Bei Nicht-Erscheinen oder unbegründeter Absage, müssen die Kosten für die Stornierung selbst getragen werden.
Die Veranstaltung findet mit freundlicher Unterstützung des Zentralrats der Juden und des Deutsch-Amerikanischen Instituts Sachsen statt.

We warmly invite you to our Shabbaton on Jewish Peoplehood from June 19 to 22, 2025 in Leipzig.
This time we start on Thursday afternoon to participate in the program of the Jewish Week in Leipzig. A highlight of the event is the International Kabbalat Shabbat, followed by Israeli catering, bringing together guests from around the world who have come to Leipzig as part of the Jewish Week to honor the memory of their ancestors.
Shabbat will be dedicated to learning and reflection: What does it mean to be part of the Jewish civilization and a Diaspora community that extends beyond religion or nationality? What significance does Israel’s Law of Return hold for Jews living outside Israel—and why is the question of Israel’s Jewish character so complex?
We have planned several sessions on these topics, providing ample space for exchange and open discussion. Together with our guest speaker Alex Carstiuc (Masiyot e.V.), we will explore different Zionist movements and examine the socio-economic and (geo)political context in which the Jewish national movement emerged.
The event is already fully booked, but we still have a waiting list and will inform you as soon as a place becomes available.
If you can only attend on Friday, please indicate this in the form below. We will work out a solution together.
Travel costs within Germany by bus, train and car will be reimbursed at a rate of 75% (up to 100€). Accommodation and meals will be covered. The participation fee for the entire event is 70€ for students and 100€ for young professionals. If no accommodation is required, the participation fee is 30€.
Attendance for the entire event is mandatory in order for the accommodation and meals to be covered. In case of non-attendance or unjustified cancellation, the participant will be responsible for the cancellation costs.
